Now that's a Good Shot!

The Salvation Army is looking for area golfers to participate in the Red Kettle Open, their 5th annual golf tournament. The shotgun style tournament at River Oaks Golf Club in Grand Island includes golf cart rental, usage of the driving range, breakfast and lunch on the patio, giveaways, and of course a full round of golf. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The cost is $500 per Foursome and is sponsored by Fichte Endl & Elmer Eyecare, Ivy Lea Construction, Inc., Will Poultry Company, & Tops Markets. Man on a Mission

James Giles, CEO of Back to Basics Outreach Ministries is calling on service providers, churches, not-for-profits, ministries, and individuals to combat the depression in Buffalo with a collaborative effort this summer in Niagara Square. Cycling For Justice

Ahmad Rivazfar and Ed Smart will bicycle from Buffalo to Rochester today (July 29th) as part of the training for “The Ride for Their Lives,” a 3,500-mile cross country ride to raise awareness of the Surviving Parents Coalition.

The pair will join other volunteer cyclists this August as they make their way through 26 cities, from Rochester, N.Y. to Los Angeles, Calif. The awareness campaign, “Ride for Their Lives,” seeks to increase public knowledge and $1,000,000 to help advocate for laws that protect children and fight to eradicate predatory crimes nationwide.
