Students Get a Glimpse of Poverty

This year's incoming University at Buffalo Master's of Social Work class had a unique chance to imagine what it is like to live one month of poverty during the school's first-ever "poverty simulation" incorporated in the school's student orientation that took place today, Friday August 27.

About 75 master's students entering UB's School of Social Work curriculum will be part of the role-playing exercise simulating the plight of 26 different families facing poverty. READ MORE...

The Need for Speedy Justice

With the funerals now complete for the four innocent victims of last week's massacre, what Buffalo needs more than anything is speedy justice in this still looming case of four reckless murders that taunted city streets last weekend. The city and its residents are now hanging in the balance as police and detectives continue looking at large for the person responsible for this senseless act of violence is still loose.

Pridgen Issues 10 Commandments to Stop Violence

Pastor Darius Pridgen of True Bethel Baptist Church located on E. Ferry St. and with a satellite campus on Swan St. in Buffalo responded to the recent shootings that took place outside of City Grill this past weekend.
